Pettersson has been Vancouver’s best all-rounder this season, although there has been some speculation that Bo Horvat, who is in the midst of a notable goalscoring campaign, could concede to Pettersson.

This year’s event will be hosted by the Florida Panthers on February 3rd and 4th.

In the first announcement, one player from each NHL team will be named to their respective division teams. The selection was made by the NHL’s Department of Operations.

A dozen additional players will be selected as All-Stars, three for each division team, based on an online fan vote ending Jan. 17.

A Twitter vote will also be held as part of the January 12-14 process.

Pettersson was the Canucks’ All-Star representative in 2019 and 2020, although the 2021 or 2022 event did not happen because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Joining Pettersson in the Pacific Division team will be Anaheim’s Troy Terry, Calgary’s Nazem Kadri, Edmonton’s Connor McDavid, Los Angeles’ Kevin Fiala, San Jose’s Erik Karlsson, Seattle’s Matty Beniers and Vegas’ Logan Thompson.
