Muslims love Jesus billboard in Houston on US 290 near Highway 6

Motorists on certain Texas freeways across the state may have seen a new billboard reminding them that Muslims love Jesus.
One of the billboards is in the greater Houston area on US Highway 290 with the message “Muslims Love Jesus” accompanied by “His message of one God and His prophethood” and a phone number to call with questions.
Islamic non-profit organization GainPeace, which works to educate the public about misconceptions people have about Islam, is responsible for putting up the billboard, according to the organization’s website. GainPeace also operates the phone number seen on the billboard from 9am to 9pm to answer questions about Islam.
“Islam is often a misunderstood religion, leading some to hold biased views of Islam with discrimination and mistrust of Muslims,” said Dr. Sabeel Ahmed, Director of GainPeace Look at Islam through simple messages displayed on these billboards.”
The organization has put up billboards across the country with other messages explaining the similarities between Islam and Christianity, including that both monotheistic religions contain many of the same historical figures, such as Adam, Abraham, Noah and Moses, and the central texts of both religions. the Bible and the Koran, including verses about Jesus and Mary.
A billboard shows Mary wearing a hijab with the slogan: “Blessed Mary wore the hijab. Will you respect it?” Another shows an image of the Kaaba, a building in Saudi Arabia that Muslims consider Islam’s holiest site, with the message: “Built by Abraham, dedicated to the worship of one god, annual pilgrimage by millions by Muslims.”
GainPeace has set up other billboards in the United States with similar messages about the similarity between Islam and Christianity.
