Drugs (Cocaine-Crystal Methamphetamine – Firearm) Arrest

As a result of a drug trafficking investigation in the city of Belleville on January 30, two people were charged with drug and weapons offenses.

Members of Project Renewal, the Belleville Police K9 and Emergency Response Team and the OPP Community Street Crime Unit arrested two people in the area of ​​Hwy 401 and Hwy 37.

warrant arrested

Belleville police visited a restaurant on North Front Street at approximately 5:08 p.m. on January 31 for several undesirables who had not left the restaurant. When police arrived, one of the suspects was identified as Shane Larmer, 38, of Belleville. Larmer was wanted by BPS for failing to appear in court. Larmer was arrested without incident and released a short time later with a court date of February 23.

Neighborhood dispute leads to assault charges

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Quinte West Detachment has filed charges following an attack.

At around 5:30 p.m. on January 26, officers went to an apartment building on Mill Street in Frankford. A female victim sustained serious injuries in an altercation with a neighbor.

Michael Steele, 50, of Frankford, has been charged with the following Criminal Code (Criminal Code) offences:

Aggravated Personal Injury, section 268. Personal Injury, section 266

The defendant is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on February 23.

Domestic Raid

At around 3:30am on January 28, officers from the Central Hastings OPP were responding to a report of a domestic dispute at a residential building in the community of Center Hastings.

As a result of the investigation, a 19-year-old woman from Peterborough was arrested and charged with domestic assault, contrary to the Penal Code – sec 266.

The defendant was released on commitment, with a first appearance scheduled for February 20 before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.

Snowmobile Rollover

At around 4:45pm on January 28, members of Central Hastings’ OPP branch were dispatched to investigate a rollover of a lone motor vehicle in the township of Marmora and Lake.

As a result of the investigation, Karl Monkman, 59, of Madoc, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code;

Disabled operation – sec. CC 320.14(1)(a) BAC above 80mg Degraded Operation – Section CC 320.14(1)(b)

The defendant was released on a promise and is scheduled to appear in court on February 16 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.
