What are the concerts for?
For two decades, the renowned concert series has offered the best of music and comedy.
It has raised money for the Teenage Cancer Trust, which is being pushed by Honorary Patron and Daltrey.
Teenage Cancer Trust is a UK charity providing specialist care and support to young people living with cancer.
Since 2000, the charity’s concerts at the Royal Albert Hall have raised over £32million. This has helped fund specialist nurses, hospital units and support services across the UK.
“These amazing gigs and their amazing cast help us change lives,” said Katie Collins, Executive Director of the Teenage Cancer Trust. “Because of Roger [Daltrey]the artists, the teams that make these performances possible, and everyone who buys a ticket, we can ensure young people are not diagnosed with cancer alone and continue to provide the vital, expert care and support that young people living with cancer deserve from is of vital importance. ”
Kasabian frontman Serge Pizzorno added to NME: “To be able to play in this space is an incredible thing, but to be a patron of this charity and to have been around for so long is special because they are phenomenal.
“Spending an evening is great, but spreading the word and helping this charity that has raised millions and done so much incredible work is great. Whenever we’re asked to play, we always say yes.”
