Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra-Backed True Food Kitchen Now Open in Edison

A seasonally inspired restaurant and scratch bar recently raised by some high-profile investors has opened its second kitchen restaurant in New Jersey since True Food Kitchen opened at Menlo Park Mall.

Located at 1521B US Route 1 in Edison, True Food Kitchen’s newest location offers a specially curated menu featuring exclusive items and happy hour Monday through Friday from 3pm to 6pm. The full-service restaurant features a spacious 189-seat dining room, an open kitchen, private dining room, separate to-go entrance and counter, full-service bar and two patio areas.

The brand was founded by integrative medicine pioneer Dr. Andrew Weil, founded based on the belief that food can taste great and be good for you. True Food Kitchen recently raised $100 million through new investors including New Jersey-based Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra.

The restaurant’s menu adheres closely to Dr. Weil and features fan-favorite signature dishes like a Tuscan kale salad, an aged grain bowl, and edamame dumplings. Edison location exclusive dishes include Prince Edward Island mussels, a grilled grass-fed NY strip, seared wild-caught tuna, roasted branzino and a crispy potato side.

True Food Kitchen’s Scratch Bar serves a selection of freshly squeezed juices, organic teas and natural refreshments, along with a selection of beer, wine and craft beverages. Signature cocktails include a citrus skinny margarita, as well as seasonal selections like an espresso martini, hibiscus margarita, or a juniper rose.

The restaurant also offers a full brunch menu, and guests at the Edison location can take advantage of the brand’s True Rewards loyalty program, which allows guests to earn points toward special offers with every meal. True Food Kitchen also offers a range of meal prep options, family meals and takeout packages for 4 to 6 people.

As part of efforts to end hunger, True Food Kitchen Edison is working with a company called Copia. When the restaurant has a surplus of food, staff use Copia’s app to track and submit donations to ensure no edible food is wasted.
