Ever since Disney Dreamlight Valley was available in Early Access on September 6th, 2022 on consoles and PC, it has become one of the most popular life simulation adventure games due to the many Disney and Pixar characters that everyone knows and loves from their favorite movies and TV shows developed . Also, players can enjoy a virtual and leisurely lifestyle where they collect resources and take care of a magical valley while interacting with their childhood favorites.

The game has its share of glitches you’d expect from an Early Access title, but it’s been an enjoyable pastime for those who have veered away from games like Animal Crossing: New Horizons. However, unlike New Horizons, Disney Dreamlight Valley lacks a multiplayer feature. Could gamers finally hit the road with their friends in 2023? Here’s what we know.

Will Disney Dreamlight Valley be multiplayer in 2023?
According to a recent announcement blog from developer Gameloft, Disney Dreamlight Valley should be getting multiplayer sometime in the second half of 2023. Gameloft showed off a content roadmap infographic for the year that confirmed multiplayer was coming, but details on how it will work in-game are still unknown.
It’s speculated that Disney Dreamlight Valley’s multiplayer side is still undergoing intense testing, so details won’t be released until the developers can reveal more. Gameloft intends to share these details throughout the year, possibly sometime in April when Simba from The Lion King arrives in an update. Hopefully that includes information on whether Disney Dreamlight Valley will be getting co-op, online multiplayer, or both this year.

For now, players can prepare for the next patch in February. It stars Mirabel Madrigal from Encanto and Olaf from the Frozen movies, as per the short teaser on the blog explaining their characteristics. Players can also celebrate Disney’s 100th anniversary with an upcoming Star Path.
As Gameloft focuses on adding new characters and realms and improving the gaming experience in Disney Dreamlight Valley, fans can only hope that multiplayer gets the same treatment. Also, it would be great to have co-op and online multiplayer, but we’ll have to keep waiting to see what’s what.
