“Did you have a passion for acting when you were young?” Michelle asked her colleague. “Because we both started so incredibly young.”

Laura mused as she replied, “I was 11. Isn’t that crazy?” before explaining that she wants 18-year-old daughter Jaya, who is interested in acting, to wait.

Williams added, “It’s crazy when you think about your own kids and think they’re in those environments. And you say, “Well, no. Not in a million years.”

In addition to Jaya, Laura shares 21-year-old son Ellery Harper with ex-husband Ben Harper.

Meanwhile, Michelle has a newborn and son Hart, two, with husband Thomas Kail and daughter Matilda Ledger, 17, with late partner Heath Ledger.

The two-time Golden Globe winner noted that she sees youth as a precious time.

“I’ve always looked at childhood as that really fertile time that, if done right, you can draw on for a lifetime,” she said.

“There was a very brief time in my childhood when I felt this way; it’s my childhood in Montana and the sense of freedom,” she explained.

The two women both wore black dresses for the exchange, which was chronicled by the publication.

Laura wore a long white striped dress with a deep V-neckline trimmed with lace.

She topped it off with a cropped black blazer and let her golden blonde tresses fall down her chest in loose curls.

Williams looked typically stylish in a short-sleeved look with stone-encrusted buttons down the center.

She wore her platinum blonde bob in a center parting while the glossy locks dusted her chin.

The mother-of-three looked petite and polished in a light makeup face, which she finished off with a blush lip stain.

Elsewhere in the chat, the two stars discussed Michelle’s role as Steven Spielberg’s late mother, Mitzi, on The Fabelmans.

Upon accepting the role, Michelle said: “It’s been a very emotional day of housekeeping for me, for my husband, for my daughter – everyone. We were all just so excited.’
